Our Farm History

Take a step back in time, and listen, or read through Dixiana Farm’s storied history starting in 1877. Dixiana has been home to many great men and women as well as countless great horses over the last 149 years. This land is rich with history and tradition. We strive to continue and honor the tradition of this majestic farm everyday through the success of our current operation. Kentucky is blessed with this true gem in the heart of horse country.

  • At the 2025 Keeneland November Sale, Dixiana Farm purchased its most expensive mare with a final bid of $3.7 million for Hip #129 Lush Lips (GB). The daughter of group 1 winner Ten Sovereigns had a race record of 4-4-0 from 10 starts and $769,510 in earnings at the time of purchase. She arrived stateside in 2024, and competed in five consecutive stakes races, never finishing worse than second and culminating with the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup win.
  • Since purchased by Dixiana, Lush Lips (GB) has won two graded stakes and added $240,000 to her total earnings, becoming a million dollar earner.
